Tiffany Trent grew up in Roanoke, Virginia, surrounded by the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. She won her first major writing award, the Edmond Hamilton/Leigh Brackett Scholarship, at age 16. She continued in her resolve to write fantasy throughout her education, receiving three master's degrees in English, Creative Writing, and Environmental Studies. She also writes nonfiction and has published award-winning essays and articles about environmental issues in China and Appalachia. She has lived and worked in Hong Kong, mainland China, Oregon, Montana, and North Carolina variously as a technical editor and environmental educator. Such travels and experiences provided food for the muse, but it was her love of home and its history that bore fruit in Hallowmere, a ten-book YA historical dark fantasy series. She currently teaches writing at Virginia Tech and lives nearby with her wildlife biologist husband, four cats, and dog. She is represented by Robert Gottlieb and Kimberly Whalen of Trident Media Group.
